Sonet QT Acoustic Privacy System by Cambridge Sound Management

For most people, a door is the best form of privacy they have – whether at home or in the office. The problem with this, of course, is that if you are trying to have a sensitive conversation, it would be very easy for someone to listen in on you. You could, perhaps, turn up some music loud enough to cover your voices, but then it would most likely run interference with the actual conversation and make things difficult. And in an office situation, playing loud music during a sensitive meeting is definitely not a very professional choice most of the time. For increased audible privacy, you should consider using an acoustic privacy system, such as the Sonet QT APS system by Cambridge Sound Management. Devices such as these are a great low cost way to improve privacy without adding other distractions.

There are other professional privacy systems available, but many of them are quite expensive. Soundproofing a room can cost thousands of dollars, and is sometimes impossible after construction has been completed. With an acoustic privacy system, you can have it up and running in just several minutes in a pre-existing office. You can install the speakers in the walls, but it works just as well to have them externally attached.

So, how exactly does an acoustic privacy system like the Sonet QT work? It puts out a low volume sound that effectively masks most regular voice ranges. The volume can be controlled by a portable module, so you don’t have to get up every time you want to adjust the settings. The sound itself is actually quite calming and will definitely not serve as a disturbance or annoyance – some compare it to the hum of an air conditioning system or a personal fan. Placing the speakers of the privacy system near a door or other opening can help prevent people from overhearing anything that goes on in your office.

On the Sonet QT acoustic privacy system, you get two speakers to start with. It can support up to six speakers, though, so you can easily add a Sonet Extension Kit if you’d like without having to totally upgrade to a new system. The speakers are quite small and lightweight, and they are also very energy efficient. You probably won’t even notice a difference at all on the energy bill for your business. The best part is that the system comes with everything you need to affix the speakers to the wall – setup time will literally only take a few minutes. Also, if you have to move offices, you can easily take the system with you; overall, the Sonet QT is much more efficient and cost effective than other privacy options.

Whether your business is small and barely off the ground or a large booming corporation, the Sonet QT Acoustic Privacy System is a smart investment. It takes less time and less money, yet it works just as well as what other businesses pay thousands of dollars for. Make the smart choice and go with the Sonet QT.

Sad Light Therapy – How it relates to sleep

Can a SAD light help enhance the quality of your sleep? SAD lights have been engineered to help people who suffer from seasonal affective disorder, also known as SAD. However, SAD light therapy can also work to regulate the internal body clock and help assist with mild sleeping disorders.

Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD affects nearly 10 million people in the United States. SAD typically affects people during the winter months or from November to March when the daylight hours are shorter. Common symptoms of SAD are having difficulty concentrating, loss of interest in usually fulfilling activities, weight gain, and sleeping longer hours but still waking up feeling tired. The symptoms of SAD are very similar to those of depression.

The SAD light works to help combat the symptoms of SAD using a natural and homeopathic approach. In order to use the SAD light, a person needs to sit in close proximity (1 or 2 feet away) to the SAD light while the SAD light emits a balanced spectrum of light from its fluorescent tubes. The light is then absorbed into the body. Scientists have found that bright light contributes to the production of serotonin in the brain and have produced findings which confirm that low levels of serotonin contribute to depression or depression-like feelings. Many studies have shown dramatic and positive findings in regards to the SAD light treating SAD and also enhancing sleep.

Can the SAD light help you to get a better night’s sleep? Many studies have proven the answer to this question to be YES. A study conducted by the Department of Psychiatry, Cornell Medical College, New York outlines this positive outcome. The study included sixteen individuals who commonly suffered from insomnia. The group was treated with nighttime bright-light exposure (BL) while living at home for 12 days with a three month maintenance light treatment period. During each laboratory testing session, their performance levels along with sleep and core body temperatures were measured and recorded. The findings concluded that the subjects improved significantly on 3 of the 4 categories from pre-BL to post-BL. It is recorded that people who received active BL treatment maintained significantly higher performance levels when compared to a control BL group not receiving the light therapy. In this study, as well as many others, light therapy has had a strong impact on improving the quality and duration of sleep.

In conclusion, you don’t need to suffer from SAD to reap the benefits of a SAD light. If you are experiencing less than gratifying sleep, unusual sleep-wake patterns, insomnia, or another sleep-related issue, the use of a SAD light may be able to help you. Give a SAD light a try, you’ll be HAPPY you did!
