SOLEIL Sun Alarm Sunrise/Dawn Simulator SA-2008 Ultima

The first thing you hear when you wake up in the morning is probably an incessantly annoying repetitive beep, or a blaring buzz, or loud music that jolts you awake. You can probably agree with me that waking up to such annoying circumstances is not really that enjoyable. And you know what? It's not really natural, either. Our bodies were designed to wake up much more gradually. The ideal situation is that your body has received enough rest that you wake up on your own with no stimulus needed. However, due to the way our culture works and the perpetual state of busyness that most of us are required to live in, this is a bit too idealistic to aim for.

There's another natural way that our bodies are designed to wake up, and that's sunlight. But there's a problem with that - not all of us have windows on the eastern side of our room, and even less of us need to wake up at exactly the same time the sun comes up. So that's not a very viable way of waking up either... or is it?

Keep your curtains closed and don't worry about changing what time you have to wake up each day to match the time of the sunrise - there's an awesome alarm clock available from SOLEIL Sun Alarm that is a dawn simulator. That's right, you can actually simulate dawn within your own bedroom. The clock will gradually light up your room at a nice slow pace, just like the sun would if it was creeping over the horizon. This is a much more peaceful and natural way to start the day! Imagine how much of a better mood you'd be in if you had been gently lifted out of sleep rather than violently jolted out of your sleep. This is truly a much better way to wake up.

But, you may ask, what happens if for some reason the light isn't enough to wake you up one morning? This alarm clock also has a traditional alarm built in. You can set it to beep at you if you haven't woken up after a certain amount of time. Chances are, the light will usually be enough to wake you up; but it's better safe than sorry. Also, if you're a heavy sleeper who is usually impervious to alarms, the combination of light and noise may be enough to wake you up.

As with most alarms, this clock has everything you'd expect in a traditional noise-only alarm clock. There is an AM/FM radio, a lighted LED-display, a snooze button, and a nap timer so that you can take naps without having to reset your alarm time before and after your nap. All this and more is packaged inside one small unit that also happens to be very modern and sleek.

If you're used to being jolted awake every morning by a conventional alarm clock, you should try being woken up gradually by simulated sunlight. With something like this SOLEIL Sun Alarm, waking up in the morning can finally be a joy rather than a pain!
