Does price affect anything?

If I bought a white noise CD, wouldn't that be just as good as a white noise machine? Tell me more.

The CD's sound great until the reach the end (60 minutes).  Then if the player is in repeat mode there will be a good 2-3 seconds of dead quiet that will wake most people out of a sound sleep.

I would suggest a good quality white noise conditioner such as the marpac sleepmate or soundscreen 980 or 580.

That makes a lot of sense in that when the sounds done, you will wake up. I guess you become conditioned to the sound and when it is no more, your body wakes you.
