I've come to prefer sleeping on my couch, which is sometimes embarassing.

What does this say about my sleeping and do you have any recommendations?

I think it has something to do with where you are most comfortable.  There is something soothing and nurturing about sleeping on the couch, like the times we did it when we were sick as kids.  I find that I sleep on the couch a lot now and have even considered getting rid of my bed altogether.

I find uncomfortable sleeping on the couch. Maybe because I like more space to move around when sleeping. I am relaxed when I can stretch my body when sleeping.

I have back problems, so sleeping on the couch wouldn't work for me at all. Of course sometimes sleeping in the bed doesn't work much either! I can't win for losing!

I could never pick the couch over my bed. My bed is way too comfortable.

You may sleep on the couch but try to lie down instead of sitting while sleeping because it could be bad for your neck and back. Repetitive couch posture can lead to neck pain and back problems. If you can't lie on the couch, try to place a pillow or rolled sandbag on your lower back for support.

I would say if you are sleeping more comfortably on the couch, you might need to consider purchasing a new mattress.  I don't know how old your mattress is, but there are so many options now to find one that will give you a comfortable night's sleep, you might really want to check them out.  I can't imagine sleeping on the couch as a permanent alternative.

I absolutely love my bed! My couch is leather, so if I slept on it I'd end up stuck to it.

Maybe you can simulate the couch experience with a TV in the bedroom and sitting up against the cushions a little?

Or you could buy a new mattress...

I'm the complete opposite.  I can't sleep on the couch and right now, I have to.  I sold my old mattress and I'm shopping for a new mattress.  I'm leaning toward a Tempur Pedic but I don't know if it would bee too hot or not.  If it winds up being too hot, I won't be able to stand to sleep on it.
