Resound LX18 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones

Being a former medical transcriptionist, maybe going back into it eventually if I find my own accounts this time, I was wondering how effective these are in blocking out the background noises compared to other noise cancelling headphones?
I haven't had experience with over-the-ear headphones, as I have used the Shure and Etymotic inner ear brands which are VERY, VERY costly. I was also wondering if these are "heavy" on the ears with extended use (for several hours at a time).

I was looking for some headphones that would block out the sound of snoring. My husband snores really loud and I haven't been able to sleep next to him for the past 8 years. I would like to but he keeps me up all night with his snoring. What can I use?
